The Process

How It Works

Six clear steps — no branch visits, no faxes, no loan committees. Everything submitted digitally except one carrier assignment form that requires a hand signature.

01

Complete Your Application & Provide Documents

Submit our online application along with a government-issued ID, and business or trust documents if applicable. No income verification. No credit check.

Trust Borrowers

  • Trust Agreement
  • Attorney Certificate (we will provide forms)
  • Trustee Certificate (we will provide forms)
  • SS4 Form (EIN number)

Business Borrowers

  • SS4 Form
  • Certificate of Formation / Certificate of Good Standing
  • Operating Agreement / ByLaws

02

Send Your Policy Values Report

For a Cash Value Line of Credit, send us your policy statuses. For a Premium Deposit Account Line of Credit, send policy statuses, policy illustrations, and PDA illustrations. You can request these from your insurance agent or agency office — or we can obtain them on your behalf with your consent.

03

Review & Sign Your Term Sheet Electronically

Once policy values are reviewed, we issue your term sheet — a non-binding letter outlining your interest rate, loan maturity, and available credit line amount. Term sheets are typically issued within 48 hours of receiving complete documentation. Review and sign electronically.

04

Return the Collateral Assignment Form

A pre-filled collateral assignment form is provided to you at Step 3. This form must be signed by hand (wet signature) and returned to us by email as a scan or photo — no originals needed. This is the one step in the process that is not fully electronic: the carrier assignment form requires a physical signature.

05

Review & Sign Loan Documents Electronically

Once the term sheet and collateral assignment are signed, we send you full loan documents to be signed electronically.

06

Complete a 5-Minute Phone Verification

Before disbursement, we schedule a brief 5-minute phone call with you to confirm the bank account where your loan proceeds will be wired. Once verified, funds are disbursed — and future draws on your line of credit typically arrive within 24–48 hours of your request.

Process FAQs

How do I know how much cash value I have?
Request a policy in force illustration (sometimes referred to as a policy status or policy data report) from your agent or home office, which shows the current cash value. We are happy to obtain this report for you, provided we have your agent's contact information and your consent.
What happens at the maturity date of the loan?
One of three things: (1) the borrower pays the loan out of pocket; (2) the policy owner may request the funds owed be collected from the insurance carrier, thereby creating a carrier loan; or (3) the borrower requests a loan modification to extend the maturity date, increase the loan amount, or both.
What is the difference between a line of credit and a term loan?
With a line of credit, the borrower may pay down and reborrow principal. With a term loan, principal paid down may not be reborrowed. There is no difference in interest rates.
How will I receive the funds at closing?
The proceeds of your loan will be wired to the bank account you provided on the Disbursement Instruction form, confirmed during the Step 6 phone verification.
